It's an hour full of Hasidic Disco, Spirutal Soul, Yamanite Funk, Turkish Acid Rock, Arabic Jazz & much more, all recorded & released in Israel by local musicians & artists in the 70's and early 80's. 95% of the tunes were never reissued on CD and were fairly obscure even when they originally came out. This is the result of a decade of digging in Tel-Aviv's record shops & Flea markets..

It's Passover time again and you all know what that means. Time to boil those eggs, hunt down that shankbone, dust off those hagadahs and most importantly to pick up your copy of the SoCalled Seder.

What started off as a spark in Josh "SoCalled" Dolgin's mind has become a mini hip hop symphony filled with old Jewish samples centered around the theme of the Passover Seder (it's what Jews do around Easter time to celebrate the exodus from Egypt) shmear it with a little love and create what some have hailed as “one of the greatest works of Jewish music in years.”

The Seder features cameos by Wu Tang Clan's Killah Priest, Mr. Bungle's Trevor Dunn, Montreal's queen of country Katie Moore, David Krakauer, Susan and Elaine Hoffman Watts, and more.

Thanks to all who came out to the Purim parties in Boston San Francisco, Cleveland, Los Angeles and New York respectively, they were all smash hits filled with masked merauders, rock n roll, booze, beats and friends. Soulico took the roof off in Cleveland, SF and LA while SoCalled and Alicia Jo Rabins (Golem) created masterpieces at the Jewish Museum in NYC and Golem and DeLeon rocked the house in Boston.
